While this is a “video” page. It’s also a trip down memory lane for me.
The Loose Marbles changed my life, and I don’t mean that hyperbolically. When Michael (on the clarinet) invited Amy Johnson and I to be part of his rag-tag group of street performers in 2007, I had no idea the adventures we would have! We traveled the world. The band exploded in spectacular fashion on the New Orleans scene quickly spawning other popular offshoots. Many of those bands can be seen represented in this video. Thanks to Andy for posting the original full-length video. It currently has over 215K views and you should check it out. I clipped out just this great section of Amy and I dancing, which comes at the very end of the original 4.5 minute video! It brought back a flood of memories.
Amy and I had been dancing together even before New Orleans and, after I moved to Western Massachusetts, we got one more opportunity to dance together in Norfolk VA of all places, where my New Orleans’ band was playing what would be its last gig. Regardless of whether or not “The Ibervillianaires” was ever a good name for a band, it was a good band. This next clip from the Norfolk Bayou Boogaloo. It was an honor to perform there and super sweet that Amy could join me.
More coming soon…
